Guest Party Feature: An Animal Parade

02 December 2011

I fell upon this lively and colorful party on pinterest the other day and fell in love.  The party was put together by Jennifer Pebbles of the blog paper and ink.  Jennifer is a graphic designer in the craft industry and her great style shows in this adorable party she threw for her daughters first birthday.  She crafted everything from the napkin flowers to the hanging animals to her daughter's hair accessory.  I personally love her use of color and how even though she used a palette of many colors she was able to bring it all together in such a beautiful way... love love LOVE!  You must check out the party post to read more about the DIY's she took on and the ideas behind this lovely animal parade!

Woodland Wonderland

02 November 2011

I was thrilled to get an email last night from the peeps at Amy Atlas informing me they would be featuring Noah's party on their blog today!!  Super yay!  I thought I would post some additional pics of the party!  It was such a fun and whimsical day and I'm so lucky that I was able to plan the party with a good friend. :)

Here is a bit about the party...
This party was put together by myself and my friend Candace, for our two little boys who were turning two years old, Noah and Hudson. We chose a woodland wonderland theme where we featured woodland animals, gnomes, and small touches of fall with pumpkins and caramel apples. We picked a lovely park loaded with tall forest trees and nature all around, which made for the perfect backdrop to our event. The dessert table offered black forest cupcakes, natural vanilla cupcakes, dried fruit and peanut cookies and acorn cookies for "little squirrels."
We really wanted to make the woodland party special for our little boys so we used a quote through the whole party as well as on the back of the invitations which read, "Little boys are meant for kisses and hugs, for chasing squirrels and catching bugs."
Lunch was served and each of the kids had their own place setting with wrapped lunches and juice boxes each labeled with their name. The party included games such as "hoot owl bean bag fling", "mushroom ring toss", "brown rabbit sack races" and a photo booth complete with woodland animal masks.  Lastly, for the favors we hung caramel apples from the trees and the kids were able to "pick" their apple favors. The party was truly whimsical and our little boys and friends had a wonderful time!

The woodland designs will be up in my shop soon, so be looking out for those!
Thank you for letting me share!

More from Charla Anne...

01 November 2011

I asked Charla if it would be ok for me to feature some of the other lovely birthday set ups that she has put together for her youngest daughter. I am just in love with her simple, gorgeous, vintage style. I think it goes to prove that you do not have to have a sweets table decked out to the nines for high impact. Her simple but chic details are just so dreamy. I hope you enjoy!

A Dick and Jane Birthday Celebration

05 October 2011

I really love when I find a party with an unexpected theme. I have been following the blog of Charla Anne for a few months now, and if you have yet to find her blog of lovely inspiration and sweet celebrations of her children, you must go and be inspired! When she posted this celebration put on by herself and her also very talented photographer sister, Mandy Lynne, I knew I had to share. The lovely vintage theme and look has me swooning. Don't you just love it??

A Summer Sip & See

28 August 2011

I had the fabulous opportunity to work with Sarah, from Lil Hoot again on this sweet sip & see. Sarah's style, attention to detail, and creativity is simply amazing... I truly mean that... it blows me away every time.

This lovely sip & see was thrown by Sarah for her newborn niece June. She started with a color palette of peachy pinks, corals, yellows, and golds, with slight touches of aqua... LOVE! We then incorporated the design of delicate and modern floral details, and the pineapple... a welcoming symbol of hospitality. You must go look at Sarah's blog for all the details and more beautiful photos!!

Summer Party Crush...

23 August 2011

I fell upon this amazing summer bash by the very talented Holly Mueller of Paisley Petal Events, and just had to share. For one, I'm a sucker for anything surfer related (have I mentioned my husband and I LOVE to surf!?) This party was designed/planned by Holly for her son as an end of the school year & beginning of summer party. What fun? She thought of every detail... I just love the ocean themed desserts! Holly and her husband even made the surfboards for the backdrop! Love, love, love! You must check out Holly's blog to see all the amazing photos and details!
